1. Reservations
Making a reservation via Hotellme.com is simple and free of charge
a. Select a country and city ;
b. Scroll through the selected pictures and click on the hotel of your choice;
c. At the bottom of the hotelpage which just opened you see the "book this hotel on-line" button.
d. Here you find more information , make on-line bookings and get an instant confirmation.
A reservation is only definite after a confirmation by the hotel. You receive this immediately when a hotel can be booked on-line. When a hotel is "on request" this confirmation can take up to 24 hours. Without this confirmation there is no reservation or booking. The reservation itself is an agreement between the hotel and the customer; we forward the reservation applications only. No rights can be derived from reservation applications. Hotels preserve the right to refuse reservations
2. Prices
The prices of the hotels mentioned on Hotellme.com are almost all per room. On the individual hotelpage you find a from-to price as an indication. The hotels that are directly on-line bookable mention the exact roomrates per available roomtype. Exceptions on this are the package deals. Nearly always a price per person is indicated but this is always mentioned.
If you want to rent a room with several persons and these three or four person rooms are not mentioned separately, then it is best to note this in the filed "remarks". The hotel will let you know what the extra costs are. The possible allowances for children who sleep in the room of the parents are generally dependent on the age. Please tell the hotel by adding this to "remarks".
The use of this internet site is free of charge and there are no reservation costs or commissions.
3. Method of payment
You have to pay the total amount of your reservation or package directly to the hotel. You can do this most of the time upon arrival at the hotel.
The hotels that can be booked directly on-line always need your creditcard information in order to guarantee your booking immediately. Via a secure server this data is transmitted.
The hotels that can be booked "on request" also in most cases need your creditcard information to guarantee your reservation.
The hotels only use your credit card data to guarantee your reservation and not for payments. Only if you cancel a reservation within the cancellation period or you do not show up then the credit card data will be used by the hotels to recover the costs.
4. Cancellation and Changing of reservations
If you want to change or cancel a reservation then you have to notify the hotel directly. We always advise you to do this by e-mail and to ask for a confirmation from the hotel. If you cancel or change shortly before your actual arrival date, then you can better phone the hotel and ask for a confirmation by e-mail.
If at the moment of cancellations or changes the cancellation period has expired then the hotel is allowed to charge you with the cancellation costs. This cancellation period is always mentioned by the hotel in their confirmation. If you do not show up you will always be charged by the total amount of the reservation.
We recommend you to do any cancellations or changes as soon as possible in order to prevent costs being charged.
5. Safe reservations
We find it very important that you can make your reservation safely. For this reason we have set up procedures to prevent unauthorized access to the information which we collect on-line.
The creditcard information you fill in when booking a hotel on-line is transferred through a secure server.
Also in the Civil Code a provision has recently been incorporated which protects the consumer against unauthorized use of its credit card:
De wet bepaalt dat de consument bij fraude met zijn creditcard niet verplicht is de in rekening gebrachte bedragen te voldoen, mits de fraude niet aan de consument is toe te rekenen.
Om het risico voor de consument zoveel mogelijk te beperken, is sinds kort in het Burgerlijk Wetboek een bepaling opgenomen die de consument beschermt tegen het frauduleus gebruiken van zijn creditcard. Als met de creditcard van de consument een frauduleuze betaling wordt gedaan, kan deze niet worden verplicht het daarvoor in rekening gebrachte bedrag te voldoen. Ook geldt dat al het reeds betaalde als onverschuldigd betaald wordt aangemerkt. De enige uitzondering hierop is als het frauduleuze gebruik de consument zelf is toe te rekenen, bijvoorbeeld wanneer een consument zijn creditcardgegevens in een nieuwsgroep achterlaat.
Daarnaast voorzien nagenoeg alle creditcardmaatschappijen in de mogelijkheid van een zogenoemde 'charge back', waarbij frauduleuze transacties ongedaan kunnen worden gemaakt. Het komt natuurlijk voor dat een consument gebruikmaakt van deze charge back, terwijl u het product al heeft geleverd. Het kan dan problematisch worden om uw product terug te krijgen, bijvoorbeeld omdat een fraudeur een vals adres heeft opgegeven of zelfs ontkent dat de levering ooit heeft plaatsgevonden. Als u dit risico niet wilt lopen, kies dan voor veiligere manieren van betalen, zoals het betalen bij aflevering (onder rembours) of de acceptgiro.
